For our division Product Creation at our location in Cologne we are looking for a Material Developer (m/f/d) Your expertise refines our material and component expertise, e.g. in leathers and functional fabrics You manage and monitor different material development projects on a seasonal basis as a support of the development team, plus innovation projects together with the innovation team For an efficient product creation, you establish and manage the material library You maintain the material master data in the system, and you coordinate prototype material orders and the invoicing Managing the onboarding process of new material / component suppliers is one of your tasks as well You build excellent relationships with strategic material and component suppliers Successfully completed studies in the field of material development and/or training in the field of leather processing / finishing Minimum 5 years working experience in the footwear, fashion or sports industry for known brands in the field of leather processing / finishing Knowledge of leather processing / finishing and synthetic and natural fabrics In-depth knowledge in the field of leather is very advantageous Fluent in English and German Very good project management skills High level of pragmatism and hands-on mentality, creative in finding new ways of doing things and capable of building strong and efficient relationships Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis BIRKENSTOCK offers you all the advantages of a successful, fast growing, global company: dynamic work environment, considerable design freedom, authentic and open corporate culture and excellent development opportunities.
