Production, by incorporating standardized systems and workflows, manages the process of producing content with good and consistent quality metadata in order to support our rote as an ePublisher This allows our global audiences to use our products through a vanety of reading devices, both electronic and paper We work with vendors that incorporate our workflows, automate processes wherever possible, follow standardized procedures and create our content in full text XML which is the essential foundation for producing matenals that can be utihzed in the electronic environment. We are looking for our department Book Production for a Project Coordinator (m/f/d) with following profile: Purpose of the job: Ensure timely & high-quality book publications within the SRG framework of policies and production standardsCoordinate & monitor the complete print and online book publication process of a designated book projects portfolio throughout all stages — post-acquisition, production, post-publication - in dose cooperation with our full service vendors. Very good spoken and written command of English and German Ability to work effectively in a highly complex, diverse and changing environment Strong problem solving and organizational, i. e. priority onented, skills Ability to handle multiple and diverse projects at the same time Adherence to schedules and quality also when under time pressure Expenence in book production and cooperating with acquisition editors and (mostly offshore/lndian) full service vendors Solid understanding of print and online publishing formats & tools (XML, HTML, ePub) Expenence with MS-office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) & G-Suite (Google Cloud), LaTeX and PDF Interest in content & process management and workflow systems and their optimization Keeping up-to-date with procedural and technical upgrades Mentoring & supporting vendor staff, and guide authors & editors as well as publishing colleagues on policies & production standards (copyediting, typesetting, printing)

For over 175 years our brands and imprints have been a trusted source of knowledge to these communities and today, more than ever, we see it as our responsibility to ensure that fundamental knowledge can be found, verified, understood and used by our communities – enabling them to improve outcomes, make progress, and benefit the generations that follow.  Position: Editor (Journals), Mathematics, Physical and Applied Sciences (m/f/d) Location: New York, London, Dordrecht, Berlin, or Heidelberg Closing date: May 19th 2021 Purpose of the Role       As the primary publishing contact for a portfolio of journal titles in the Mathematics, Physical and Applied Sciences portfolio, the Editor will be responsible for growing and developing their journal cluster. This includes setting and implementing journal plans, supporting key stakeholders (editors, authors, reviewers, and societies) as well as identifying and pursuing new relevant areas for growth. Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with academic editors, editorial boards, society executives and other key contacts in the field, with the aim of building and maintaining our journals’ reputations and increasing submissions; organize and host Editorial Board meetings Build knowledge of the field and the relevant scientific communities to identify journal development opportunities and translate them into actions to maintain a competitive advantage. This will involve engaging with senior scientists and obtaining their advice.
